Please forgive me if I have gotten in over my head here. I lost my adobe somewhere in trying to upgrade it so as the new quilting designs, etc. that are saved in the .pdf mode would download into my folders. I now have to be blunt, I have just about $800 worth of pdf files, designs, etc. and I can not open them. When I attempted to to reach adobe for the 7 or 8, which is the bases for all my pdf files, it constantly flips me to 9 and naturally, the downloads stops at 99% because it can't find anything to settle on to update. I have lookd into this website as a possible replacement for the over priced Adobe to at least allow me to take care of my files as I use them quite freguently as I move them to the special ubs stick and then insert that into my computerized quilting machine. I really need to know if this is something that would be worthwhile for my needs as a free download until I can afford to then purchase something a little better. And if your program is what works best for me, then I would be then I would be happy to spend the money here then someone else.
I'm not tricky or fancy or clever as I know probably all of you are, but I am basically house bond and quilting, etc. is extremely importing to me. And I need a decent and dependable program that if I have a question, I can get an answer. If this is not the program that I need, I will trust that you will fair enough to tell me straight out.
thanks muhc

I don't understand what you need to do with these PDF files.
The free PDF-XChange Viewer can be downloaded from this page. If you want to do more with PDF files than just view them, or add comments to them, let us know, and no doubt Tracker Support will tell you which of their products is most suitable for your needs.
What program did you use to create these PDF files?

Re: PDF-Xchanger versus Adobe
thank you. my embroidery files, quilting patterns are all down loaded by pdf. I have several folders with all pdf designs. Since I no longer have any kind of program that will allow me to open these files so that I can read or see them, I'm stuck. And I can't even transfer them to my usb stick to transfer to another computerized sewing machine. Even my CD's for designs are saved as pdfs. I can open the cd's but to transfer a couple to my computer, I need to be able to have them convert to the pdf format.
I guess basically, I just need to be able to download pdf's from various areas of the internet and then when needed to be able to open them to print out to view visably (does spelling count?).
so.. the need to down the files into a pdf filder on my computer to save and then a pdf thing to open them and view them. I do not make any changes or so any writing etc. on these files. Now that I have made something so simple so much more complicated.. I do appreciate any advice or direction. I can't believe I used to be smnart as heck. Turning 65 is not for sissys.
With much thanks,

Re: PDF-Xchanger versus Adobe
Sorry... I failed to mention that all of these files were Adobe files as that was the program that was with my Dell. Apparently when the Adobe would keep upgrading itself, my computer wasn't. So now, in order to get the latest Adobe 9, it's like $499.00.
But, there it is,
again much thanks

Re: PDF-Xchanger versus Adobe
Even if you don't have any PDF view installed you can still download PDF files from the internet simply by right-click and Save target as…
And you can still copy them to a USB drive using Windows Explorer to use them on another computer.
However, why not just download and install Tracker's free PDF-XChange viewer from link in my previous post — then you can view your PDF files again. When you install it, set it as the default program to open PDF files, and after installing it, set it to view PDF files in your browser from the Preferences dialogue, File Associations.

I did and it's great.... and even with my special e-documents where you need to use a special password to open any of the files, each time it gave me the password box. Fast and I am totally appreciative. Kinda happy that I just gave up on Adobe and I will be ordering the $74 program in just a bit.
Much thanks to all of you for being so helpful.
