Text renders properly in Acrobat but not PDF-XChange Viewer

PDF-XChange Viewer has problems rendering the text in the attached file.
PDF-XChange Viewer renders this as:

The following steps will be performed:
1. Condition the ®le
2. Edit the ®le
3. Process the ®le


Adobe Acrobat Viewer 9.0 renders the text properly.
The text should read:

The following steps will be performed:
1. Condition the file
2. Edit the file
3. Process the file
