Available now in build 4.7 — however, note that if you select this option, minimize will not free up memory as it does without this option.

I found that minimise to taskbar will reduce memory use immediately to less than 2 Mbytes (it used to be 8 Mbytes in earlier builds).
After a long time of non-use while minimised to the system tray, memory use only dropped to 30 Mbytes.
No problem for me — just that some people will whinge about such details.
