Word document of 442 ppages 185 x 235 mm to PDF : 322 Mb

Post by Ducouret »

Hello,
I have to supply a printer company with a PDF file with a good resolution : 2400 dpi at least (to print a book with offset technologiy). My Word document has 442 pages (185 x 225 mm) which is not so large, but the PDF file (with Embed All Used Fonts : I used only 4 fonts) is very large : 322 MB. :?
Why is it so large? :?:
How can I make it get thinner ?
Thanks

Gérard

That is a question you should ask your printer about — it is nothing to do with PDF-XChange Viewer.

If you book contains several images then I would expect the PDF file to be very large at 2,400 dpi.

Yes, I no there is nothing to do with PDF-XChange Viewer, but only with PDF-XChange 4 PRO pdfsaver.
NB : For the same file with the same 2400 dpi resolution, PDF Creator generates a PDF file with only 18 MB.
Why such a difference?

Something not quite right here - assuming you are using our pDF-Xchange driver.

PDF-XChange is rightly reknowned for its aggressive and enviable compression and optimisation - something we are justifiabley proud of and how we originally made our made in the PDF field.

To give you an answer - we are going to need to see the word file itself - can you please zip and email to sales@pdf-xchange.com and we will be pleased to help.

also - please note this is the correct forum for the Driver :

Thanks
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
