switching multiple document problem

Post by gkvellet »

Hi,

I have updated recently from rev 2.0 build 39 to rev 2.0 built 40.7 to resolve some stability problem. However there is a feature that seems to have disappeared.

My viewer is configured for multiple documents but without tabs. The tabbed mode is not desirable because I want to view documents side by side. The problem now is that I cannot switch to another opened document using the menu "window" anymore, the opened files are not listed there anymore.

Is there another way, to switch easily to another opened document when tabbed is off?

Thanks

Try the Control Tab shortcut.

Hi,

Your shortcut works! Though you have to pass through all documents until you get to the one you want. It's not perfect but it does the job for me.

Thanks a lot for the help

Control Shift Tab will go to the previous document in other applications, but that doesn't seem to work in PDF-XChange Viewer.

However, you can customise the commands. I set 1 and 2 as previous and next document, which seems to work OK. These are the same shortcuts as are used in Opera browser.
  • Right-click on a toolbar or the menus, and select customise to open the dialogue
  • Select the Commands Tab
  • Select the View Category
  • Scroll down to Next Document and click the Properties button
  • Enter whichever shortcut key you wish to use
  • Repeat for the Previous document command

Wow, you made me realize that the application is very configurable and that I knew very little about it. I will enjoy even more working with this viewer.

Thank you very much

Be nice if one could R-click and scroll to the pages, with thumbnails of course. I find myself doing this in other apps. at times.
