I've just started using the Viewer.
I'm trying to copy small selections (a word or phrase) from a PDF, and paste them into another Windows application. Often I am successful, but often the selection does not get made and old text remains on the clipboard. I find I have to frequently click the Select tool (the T in a box). Why doesn't it stay on?
Another thing - at the same time I am copying text, I would like the selection to be underlined and/or highlighted. I am able to underline text, but it seems to be independent of copying text. Is there a way I can select, copy, and underline all at the same time?

Re: Selecting and copying text
A PDF viewer is not a word-processor.
The select text tool is a different tool to the underline text tool. Only one tool can be in use at one time, but it will stay active until you select another tool.

- Right-click on any toolbar and select customise to open the customise dialogue.
- Select the Commands tab
- Select the Tools category
- Scroll down to the Select Tool (selects text)
- Click on Properties
- In the Shortcut, Keys field, type a key such as Shift T and assign it to this tool
- Repeat for other tools, e.g. assign "u" to the Underline tool, "t" to the typewriter tool, etc.
