Scanned PDFs show only first page

Post by whocares »

I do not know if it is PDFcreator or PDF-XChange Viewer (latest) problem, but if I open PDF that is created by scanning a document. Only the first page shows image, the others are blank. If I scoll to page nr 5 for example and close the document, then reopen on page nr 5 - Image is seen only on page nr 5.

Can it be avoided?

Sure I can after finding out which program was used for creating PDF.

I forgot to mention before that I am using Portabale version (2.0 Buil 40.7) on terminal with operating system "Windows XP Embedded". On "regular" XP the same PDF opens fine. If you say that this operating system is not supported I can accept that and start testing alternate PDF-readers - although first impression was good about PDF-XChange Viewer. In 24 hours I can send zipped PDF if you still want it.

Both XP and XP running on Terminal server ( I assume you mean Terminal Server?) are indeed supported.

No it is terminal with that operating system:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP ... P_Embedded

PDF is created with ABBY Finereader 8 and shows image OK on regular XP, but has surrounding grey-white "chessboard".

I also included screenshot, how it looks in Windows XPe - unfortunately it does not show image on first page like I said before.

PS: Sumatra portable shows fine in terminal but it has it's cons.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Looks like it is because you have option "Display transparency grid" turned on (Edit -> Preferences -> Page Display)

About XP Embedded - it there are no enough space into temporary folder for decoded image, I'm afraid you will have such effect as on your screenshot.

Do you know into which temporary folder it tries to store decoded image?

I changed environment variables %TMP% and %TEMP% to network share and no help.
