PDF file with JavaScript causes PDFXviewer to crash

Post by atlpcug »

There's a U.S. income tax return preparation program in PDF format at
http://www.starkman.com/t1040.pdf

This t1040.pdf was created in Acrobat5, and can be loaded by any Adobe Acrobat version 5.0 or higher without any problems. It causes PDFX viewer (free) to crash without loading.

I am testing PDFX with this program because it permits users to save a fill-in PDF form, which free Acrobat does not. If successful, I would like to link PDFX instead of Adobe as the place to download the program to view/fill-in this tax program.

Why does it crash, and how can it be fixed? It crashes under WinXP and Win2K. I tried PDFX on both OSs.
