Hi,
first, thanks for the great job. PdfXchange is definitely an alternative to Acrobat Reader.
Due to the security problem on acrobat, we have deployed pdfxchange on all our computer, with GPO.
Here is some feedback from the admin team :
- Thanks for the MSI provided
- Thanks for the ability to import settings via command line (we do this via netlogon script), but it could be very much simpler to have the ability to populate the registry key on HKCU. I don't know exactly why it doesn't work with PDFXchange, but simply export/import the registry doesn't work (you loose settings)
Feedback from our users :
- Acrobat, when it prints a landscape pdf, automatically print it as a landscape. Whereas in PDFXchange you must manually change the orientation in the printers setting. That's quite annoying for some of our users
- Acrobat, when you print an A3 pdf, automatically reduce it to A4. Whereas in PDFXchange you must choose "Fit to printer margin". Again that's quite annoying for some of our users
If those 2 problem were solved, our users would be very happy.
Thanks again for the good work.

Hi nschmitz,
very pleased to hear of the deployment. I don't expect there to be too much difficulty getting these issues resolved. Someone from the dev team will respond to this withi the next 24 hours with a more accurate response.
Welcome to the PDF-XChange family.

Can you send me a screenshot of your print dialog ? I'm interested in screenshot with A3 original PDF page size.

Ok, thanks to Ivan, I have a solution :
Thanks again, and a little suggestion : maybe those settings should be set by default, it would save some trouble with users
.

To deploy those settings, I've used the netlogon script (print info are in HKCU\Tracker Software\PDFViewer\Print and HKCU\Tracker Software\PDFViewer.IBrowser\Print)Looks like problem is because options "Scaling type", "Auto-rotate sheets" and "Auto-center pages in sheets" has not always usable values.
For your needs best values for them is:
"Scaling type" = "Fit to printer margins"
"Auto-rotate sheets" and "Auto-center pages in sheets" both checked.
Viewer remembers last values of settings used for printing.
