Forms

Post by Arnold »

Formatted form fields do not seem to work when data is imported, unless the field is a calculated field. Formatting works fine if numbers are entered directly in field. If file is saved instead of data being exported everything is okay also when it is re-opened. Applies to numbers x,xxx and to telephone (xxx)-xxx-xxxx). Have not tried any others. I have automatic calculation set to on, so maybe that is why it works for that field.

I have buttons set up on a form that works in older versions of Acrobat (5 & 6) - import data, export data, reset form fields and print form. The import data and export data buttons do not work with PDF-Viewer, the other two do. Is this by design? I believe I read they won’t work with newer versions of Acrobat either. I could set up shortcut keys for them if you have it disabled, couldn’t I? Any chance you could add reset form fields to the menu? I know the feature is there because it works with my button.

I think standard is misspelled in the paper size set up area (standart).

Here it is. Originally created by the County using LiveCycle Designer from an Excel spreadsheet I think. I found a way to get it to work in Acrobat 5 as it was a version 7 file originally. I fixed some of the errors in fields and added the 4 buttons top right. Exporting and importing works fine in all versions of Acrobat from the tests I have done. The Import and export buttons do not work in PDF-XChange Viewer, but the reset and print buttons do.

Yes. I am using it. Undo feature is excellent. Had to move pages between files yesterday. Used drag and drop for the first time and it works very well! Thanks.

Thank you. It is a great program. I use forms some and want to do more and I want to measure architectural drawings in the viewer from now on, and stop wasting paper!

Did you see my addition to my post with the screenshot on the measuring tools?

I paid for the Pro version the day after I first downloaded it I was so impressed. I do have one other small request. Is it possible to add another icon for the program itself that you cannot hurriedly mistake for the file icon if they are both on the desktop? Any plans for a darker skin for the program at any time? On an LCD monitor over here it is hard to see toolbars, etc. The program looks beautiful on my old regular monitor from the dark ages though.

I added it to my post "Measuring Tolls" from a couple of days ago. The screenshot is zipped there. Will stop bothering you for now. Thank you.

Formatted fields still do not appear correctly when form data is imported in latest version. Field is formatted correctly only if it is a calculated one.

Yes latest version downloaded last night. I even went so far as to completely remove old version and install new version. Same pdf importing same data file (.fdf) into Acrobat 6 results in number fields being formatted correctly. In PDFX only the calculated field is formatted correctly. I tried the portable version and even the calculated field is not appear to be formatted correctly there. Thanks.
