batch tools for annotations?

Post by davideps »

Hello,

I just tried your free viewer and am very impressed. I do have a few questions though:

1. Can it batch export and import annotations in xfdf or fdf formats? Or, even more useful, do you offer or will you offer libraries to alter annotations via scripting? For example, to change all "highlight" types to "memo type 1".

2. Is there any plan to make your product available natively on Linux?

Thank you,

Hi,

You can use JavaScript to operate with annotations. But for sure it is impossible to convert one type of annotation to another type. Especially to unknown type "memo type 1".
2. Is there any plan to make your product available natively on Linux?
No, for now we haven't such plans. And reasons are simple: not so many users uses Linux, second - I think no Linux user will buy the 'PRO' Viewer, and whilst we are happy to provide a free release with great features - ultimately its the paid for versions which facilitate ongoing development.

There have been several users using PDF-XChange successfully under wine, myself included. Have you seen these?:
