Hi jmm,
First welcome, we love newbies
Reminder this is a feature request forum you can post your viewer questions in the end-user PDF-Viewer forum at the top of the board index.
Regarding you question:
Maybe you had firefox open during the installation and the plugin did not register properly, please try uninstalling and re-installing ensuring that firefox is closed during installation.
By the way please state what os you are using and what build of the Viewer Help->About if the above does not work.
Regards,
Chris

Hi jmm,
Click the start button and run, copy and paste this in: PDFXCview.exe /makeiassoc, click ok.
Weird how it didn't do it right on install though, See if that works.

What version of firefox are you using?
Are you logged in as an administrator account when you set, the display in browser setting?

Re: display pdf in browser
Do you have any other PDF readers installed? If so try disabling them in Firefox->Tools->addins->plugins
As well you can try copying the npPDFXCviewNPPlugin.dll from the C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Viewer directory to the firefox plugins directory in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins
Restart and see.

Re: display pdf in browser
I've pretty much exhausted my tricks, I'll have to go the dev team for their input.
Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, export your book marks first if that important to you and then once it's reinstalled, go into the viewer an uncheck the view in browser, restart windows and go back into the viewer and re check it. That's my last ditch attempt to offer, but I'll bring the team in on this one if that doesn't work.
Regards,
Chris

You bet, usually one of those things straightens it up.
We'll figure it out though, hang tight.
Curiosity which installer did you use .EXE or the MSI?

Re: display pdf in browser[solved]
just found the solution to this pb:
in firefox -> tools -> options -> applications -> adobe acrobat document -> there are 2 options: use pdf-xchange viewer 1) default or 2) in firefox -> choosing 2) solves the issue...

Re: display pdf in browser
Since April's Patch Tuesday, Microsoft has disabled the plugin on account of it being 'incompatible'. Even after applying today's KB2964358, it remains the same, 'incompatible.'Before Patch Tuesday, everything worked well. The plugin is accepted when I turn off extended security, but actually some Nitro plugin appears to be effective.
In 'Manage add-ins' (Invoegtoepassingen beheren), only PDFXChange 2012 is shown, only in 32-bit mode, with no sign of any Nitro plugin. I am running 8.1 64-bit desktop, with IE 11 64-bit.
Any ideas, please?
Best regards,
PS: In the PDF-XChange Editor preferences, there is no sign of a 'File Associations' category!

Re: display pdf in browser
Hi Abdul,
There are some known issues with 307.2 (latest release) displaying in IE11. These should be resolved for the next build, which is due for release a little later this month.
With regards to the File Associations section of the Preferences please see the attached screen-shot, it should look similar to this: If you're not seeing a File Associations section, then you are likely still using an older release and I would recommend and update via this link:

Re: display pdf in browser
Many thanks for your prompt response.
I have downloaded and installed version 307.2 and the File Associations dialog does now indeed appear.
For the remainder, I shall be patient.
Best regards,
AbdulRahiem (sorry, but not just 'Abdul', please).
