I have looked around for the best place to ask this question, and this seemed as good a place as any
I create teaching materials (non-profit) in PDF form. I have in the past distributed Acrobat Reader (with permission) on the CDs for convenience.
I have now made the switch myself from Acrobat Professional to PDF-XChange Viewer Pro for a number of good reasons. I'm also much happier with the speed of PDF-XChange Viewer, and as a result I would like to know if it would be possible to obtain permission to distribute the free version of PDF-XChange Viewer on CD with these teaching materials?
As long as you adhere to the (non profitting) you can distribute our free viewer, well freely. We are happy that you have seen the benefits and features that have motivated your switch to PDF-XChange and thank you for your support. We definitely see the benefits in your distribution of our free viewer as well and wish you the best as others who may not have yet been introduced to it, may now have a chance to see what our product has to offer for themselves.
Best Regards,
Chris
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
I have looked around the site for some logo that can be used on CD media, but to no avail.
Is there any branding that can be used on the CDs to indicate that the software is included? Adobe had some small graphics they let me use for their reader, so I just thought I would ask to see if there was anything that could be used in indicate that PDF XChange Viewer was present. Am I making sense?
Now when you mentioned it I did check and could not find an approptiate image.
Will ask my colleagues and will let you know if we could find some useable art
That particular graphic implies that the program must be downloaded (but the size is about right though). The word "included" (or something along those lines) would be more appropriate as the program will be included on the CD.
I hope that something can be found as it is far more impacting if some identification is found on the CD case (you know, creates interest, expecation etc). Otherwise it might not even get noticed.
I have received some newer graphics from our web developers, so new it's not yet been released but will be in sync with the new look and feel of the comming website. If you are interested let me know and I'll email them directly to you.
