Hi Support,
This is fairly minor and not sure if this is by design, but if you...
(1) Select the Cloud Tool, draw a cloud then right click -> Complete...
...then...
(2) Right click Rectangle Tool button and choose any of your custom rectangles from the palette...
...then...
(3) ...attempt to draw a rectangle (as is my intention)...
...then I get a cloud shape and not a rectangle.
This can be got around if you first left click Rectangle Tool button then right click to select from the palette. However, I think this is not necessary since the context is quite clear. i.e. If I'm browsing the rectangle palette in Step 2 then I'm pretty sure I want a rectangle!
The above is simply an example as I think any mark up object combination will exhibit the same behaviour.
Thank you very much.

Hi kier.a
I get exactly the same result. I'm also not sure if this is by design. I'm sure one of the dev team can and will enlighten us.

Re: Cannot Switch Markup Objects with Palette Selection
Hi Vasyl,
Many thanks for the quick response. I have another similar problem to report but I think it's a different symptom of the same problem. That's why I'll list it here.
- If you have two different coloured rectangles in the Rectangle Tool palette, say a blue and a red one,...
- ...select the red one and draw a rectangle...
- ...then right-click the Rectangle Tool button and select the blue one...
- ...then you will see the red rectangle that you have just drawn change to a blue one.
Again, it's subtle but I would have thought that the original red rectangle should remain red and the mouse should be ready to draw a blue one.
Let me know if you prefer me to post a new topic if they are different problems altogether. Not sure what's convenient for your bug tracking system.
Many thanks.

Hi kier.a,
the last thing you described is not trivial, that's true, but we do not think it is a bug.
You have an annotation selected and are switching to another set of properties, so those properties are applied to the currently selected object. This should be present or there would be no way to change an already existing annotation's properties
Regards,
Stefan

Many thanks for the reply.
You can still change the properties without the palette using the Propoerties Tool Bar when an item has been selected. However I can see what you mean if your intention is to be able to apply preset properties from the palette to currently selected items. If that is the case then I agree this works correctly.
Kier.

Re: Cannot Switch Markup Objects with Palette Selection
Hi Kier
Using the properties toolbar you are updating just one attribute at a time, and by selecting a preset, when you have an object selected, you are modifying a few of the settings with one click, and the mechanics behind both is the same - hence the part that if we disable such updating of the selected object it will not be possible at all to modify it.
Cheers,
Stefan
