Hello,
I use the portable version of PDF-exchange viewer, and I get it without the helpfile (through liberkey).
I'd like to know how the pin attachment tool work ; and I've been looking for the help file bu t I can't find it on the site.
Can somebody point me in the right direction
Suggestion : add a link to the help file in the help menu
For your information
1) I have tried using the site search tool, no results
2) I have tried using the forum search tool I think I already asked that question some time ago), but I get the following message :
"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: download file help. You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

Re: download help file
Hello Christie,
Yes the forum search loves to answer this way to the more common questions
You can download the manual/help file from here:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/download/PDFVManual.zip
We are deliberately not including it with the portable version as it is almost as big as the application itself
The Attachment Pin is a tool that allows you to attach other files to a PDF document, and will serve as a visual marker (you can also add annotations to it) to point the other users that there is an attachment in this document (as for example I am keeping the Attachments window closed by default and this is a good hint for me to check it).
The attached files have a "location" property and this location would be set to the respective page when you use the pin tool. If you simply attach the file using the commands in "Attachments" (Ctrl + Shilf +A) the location would be the attachments space.
Best Regards,
Stefan

That link gives me a zip, which I unzipped and obtained an old PDFVManual.PDF file
Size 5.69 MB (5,970,377 bytes)
Modified 19 October 2009, 04:03:22
There are 6 versions of
Version: 2.050 (Updated on 14 Apr, 2010) at
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/downloads
I extracted the help file from the ZIP installer version - bigger and later, i.e.
Size 6.45 MB (6,763,721 bytes)
Modified 13 April 2010, 12:25:24
I suggest that you keep up to date the contents of
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/download/PDFVManual.zip
It would be even better if you could add the help file to the 6 existing downloads at
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/downloads

Alan

Re: download help file
Hi Allen,
We have moved our downloads to a "cloud" environment and the one at the link above (as remaining on our servers) might have been outdated "a bit"
I will look into this getting fixed and will discuss the possibility to add a direct link to the manual in the new layout of our website with the web guys in the team.
Best,
Stefan

Re: download help file
Pleasure - and the file should now have been udpated on all servers
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
