Currently evaluating PDF XChange viewer and so far I am very impressed with its capabilities beyond basic reading. I wish to review PDF files electronically to cut down on the number of paper drafts and the commenting / markup tools are very good for this purpose.
My concern is with deleting the comments after the review of the document is complete. The document can be printed without any comment / markup being visible if the appropriate options are selected in the print dialogue which ensures that any sensitive comments are not visible on the final hardcopy ( whether they are actually deleted or not) . However we would sometimes at a later time email a client a pdf of the final documents . In this event the only way to ensure any such sensitive comment is not visible ( we would have no control over what reader they might use) is to delete the comments and resave the document. Does deleting the comment / markup on the comment panel ( which can be done a page at a time) permanently and completely remove the comment/markup or are they still embedded ( even though not visible ) within the Pdf file ?
Incidentally an option to simply remove all comment/markup would be useful in this regard ( a bit like the "inspect document" for hidden properties in Word 2007).
