Menu selections grayed out

I have XChange Viewer as part of PDF-XChange Pro, but still many of the menu selection and toolbar buttons are grayed out. What should I do? Viewer is version 2, build 42 and I assume it was installed at the same time I installed XChange Pro.

Hi SilviaC,

Please in the viewer goto Help->Check for updates. We are on build 42.8 now and some of those greyed out actions may have been implemented since. They are usually space holders for future features that are currently being developed though. If there are specific ones you have questions about, please let me know and I can see what I can find out about them.

As well, in the Windows Start Menu in the PDF-XChange 4 PRO group try to use the Live update to update your the rest of your PDF-XChange 4 PRO suite we are up to build 4.0.169 I believe now, there may have been a bug in the live updates back then so if it does not update please download the latest PDF-XChange 4 PRO from our website here: http://www.docu-track.com/download/PDFX4.zip.

Since "Check for Updates" is one of the selections that is grayed out in Viewer, I will try the other option and see if XChange is updated! Now that I think about it I don't remember ever updating...

Hmm, there is no Live Update option in the PDF XChange 4 PRO group, only uninstall. I will try the link now!!

Yeah, there were some issues with the updating, so the linked downlaod should get you up to snuff.

I am all updated. I haven't tried the PDF tools, but the Viewer works again. I assume I will be good to go when I upgrade to Windows 7 next month, just install with the latest version and my license code. Thanks!

Excellent and we are using Windows 7 ourselves ,with no problems - needless to say if any occur - they will be resolved, ASAP
