Default font setting for typewriter?

Post by dwerwerwer »

The typewriter tool seems to always default to Courier New 12 - isn't there someway to set another default setting?

No need to apologise, perhaps I poorly worded my answer and was a little abrubt - so my apology :)

But it was more a statement for general consumption by all - we do seem to answer some questions - frequently....

A manual is supplied with all versions - except the portable - as portable users have requested the smallest possible downlaod.

But you can freely download the manual from the same page as the product :
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/downloads/users/

See the last item in the Viewer download table.

Hope that helps

Indeed I used the portable (i think you should just include the manual, people could always just delete it :)

Thanks.

dwerwerwer,

As John already said, most portable users are requesting the smallest possible file size and as the manual is available as a separate download from our website, and being almost as large as the portable version itself, it's likely to stay separate :)

Stefan

It takes 2 seconds to download it - are most of your users on 300 baud modems?

Don't you think most of your users want a small file installed on the usb stick, but the download is not very relevant.

Besides i never noticed the manual, since i stopped read once i got to 'portable'

There is a lot of politics involved in PDF Viewers/Readers in terms of the way Adobe has gone with theirs and their is a significant volume of users looking for a small, fast PDF Viewer without too much bloat and the downlaod file size is seen as an indicator of this - so its not just a practical thing -but an almost 'emotional' statement for users - and the Portable download just happens to also fit the bill for most such users too.

Hopefully that fully explains the logic and we can now close this post and all move on ;)

I understood your reason the first time (so no need to repeat it) I just though it was stupid and unreasonable.
But feel free to move on.

So long.

Though just before leaving, I feel like adding: You could add a readme which said a manual was available, that would only add 30 bytes.

Your last point is a good one and will do this in future releases.
