Some PDF's do not open in FF

I am experiencing the following problem with the PDF-XChange Viewer:

I am getting many instances of this error...

Error [PDF Structure 40]: Invalid property type

...when I try to open SOME pdf files (but not ALL) in my FF 3.5.5 browser from this website: http://209.212.22.88/search.htm (You must perform searches or browse to obtain individual documents.)

One example of a document that will NOT open in my FF browser is attached to this message.

PDF-XChange Viewer will open them if I download them to my hard drive, or if I use IE8, which I don't use. I do a lot of research on this website and need the files to open in my FF browser. Adobe Reader 9.2.0 opens them in either browser but I prefer PDF-XChange Viewer. If anyone can help, would appreciate it. Thank you. Joanne

The PDF is large (42.1 Mbytes), but it opens fine in the PDF-XChange plugin in Opera after ten minutes or so. Perhaps you are just not waiting long enough, or have connection problems? I have a 10 Mb cable connection.

All files must be archived to Zip or 7z to attach here.

Thank you for your response. I don't believe either of those are the problem. I wait until I get the error message, and I'm not having any connection problems.

I did forget to mention that the site was recently updated to add additional years of the newspaper issues and I never had this problem before the update.

The document from: http://209.212.22.88/data/rbr/1980-1989 ... .04.19.pdf
- is linearized(can be displayed gradually during downloading). We unsupports linearized documents now.

You may open this document by: run the our standalone-application and use 'File'->'Open from URL' menu-command, it works correctly.

Thank you very much for your reply. That does work, however it is not a good solution for me. I hope you will consider supporting this type of file in the future so that it will open in the browser.

Hello Jo,

Problem is not in PDF-XChange Viewer, but in Firefox settings. To open such big PDF files, you should increase cache size for offline files in Firefox. Usually this can be done in Firefox options dialog
Tools->Options->Advanced->Network ->"Offline Storage"

That worked! It was set at 50 and I increased it to 100. Thank you so much, Corwin. My research will go much faster now.
