PDF-Exchange Viewer crashes - deleting pages thumbnails

I am running Win7, but it also did this in Vista. Whenever you attempt to delete a page by deleting a thumbnail, the software crashes.

1: The Version in use ... ?

2: Is this all files - or just some?

There are no other such reports ..

Version is 2.0, build 3.1
Happens on a lot of docs.
Usually it is on docs that have had several files combined using Software995. Perhaps this is the problem. I should probably be using PDF-Tools to combine

Which version? It is too old or you made misstype.
Anyway recomendation is update to the latest release (2.0.44.0 at the moment) and try again.
And if problem still exist - please send us one of such files to reproduce and fix problem.

I tried updating this to a more current version. Apparently I have to pay for an update. Is this really the case?

You can download free version and try. Of course you will get demo label when try to save modified document, so do not overwrite original document.
But as I remember if you have valid v2 serial (PVP20-...) you will need just download latest installation and it should work. In other cases you should contact sales@pdf-xchange.com

As far as upgrading is concerned - most likely what is required is a new serial number, provided you have any V4 license the upgrade is free so long as you have not exceeded any distribution limits, we required this from build 2.037 or thereaboust - so it must be some time since you last updated.
