Everything Going Dark - Line Tool, Note Tool etc

Post by e90976 »

I am using the new version of the Viewer and am beginning to encounter some serious problems. Nearly all markups to the PDFs are going dark. The underline tool, though set to red, is now shifting to black. This is not so bad, but the call out notes, or notes attached to the line go dark, making it impossible to read the text in the note. Also, PDFs generated from Adobe's Acrobat Distiller are unreadable. The entire PDF, with the exception of the border, become black. I noticed that this was a problem before I installed the newest version (i.e., 2.0.44), but it was limited to just a single PDF. This problem has now become pervasive after installing new software and effects all PDFs opened with PDF Xchange Viewer. Any assistance in fixing this problem would be much appreciated.

A sample PDF file might help, but it is hard to know what might have happened. Perhaps you have changed something in Preferences, Accessibility? I would suggest reinstalling the viewer.

Thank you for your assistance in this suggestion. You were absolutely right. I went to edit, preferences and unselected override document colors.

To see the error that this produced, I suggest you simply select override document colors, and you should see what I am talking about. Thank you so much for your assistance in answering this question. Have a great day.

Hello e90976,

The "error" you describe is there on purpose and helps increase the contrast for people that need it.
There are quite some settings that could be tweaked in such a way so that the contrast of text is changed but images are still visible in some extent.

Glad that you solved your problem and do not hesitate to contact us again if you encounter any other problems.

Best,
Stefan
