We've come across a situation where one of our clients has a piece of software in addition to ours that uses your ActiveX Control. The version that they're using is older than the one that we're using, and even though they're both installed in different locations, their version of your ActiveX Control is being used by our product.
Is there a way to have both versions installed and registered at the same time so that each separate piece of software loads it's appropriate version of the ActiveX Control?

Re: Multiple Versions of the ActiveX Control
Version 2.x is not designed in such a way that different versions can be installed - you will have to ensure that the latest release is registered as the correct one.
Version 3 will allow this and will not cause such a problem - but it is still a little way away.
Sorry its not better news.

If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Re: Multiple Versions of the ActiveX Control
Check out www.xenocode.com and with their Application Studio ISV Version you can wrap it into your exe to prevent problems like this with any ActiveX control. It's not cheap I think around $1500 but we've had good luck with it and it's far cheaper than Thinstall which was bought out by VMWare.
