Installation Issue on Server 2008R2 64bit

Post by HJBrown »

We have a customer that is running a Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server under Microsoft Hyper-V as a virtual machine. No matter what we try we cannot get this machine to run the Tracker Viewer control. We have tried installing the latest distribution download 2.0.45 which I understand should work on 64bit platforms.

When we start our app, it fails on the very first line where we invoke the PDFViewer control:
"PDFview1.SetDevInfo ...".

This customer is now completely down until we can get this resolved. We have even tried registering the control manually to no avail. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Hello HJBrown,

Do you receive any error messages while you have tried to register AX control manually? Also what dev language you are using?

No error messages. We are using VB6. How can we troubleshoot this. It is affecting over 20 users.

Please try to manually register both x86 and x64 versions of PDFXCviewAx.dll and PDFXCview.exe and report back if problem still exists.

We tried uninstalling, cleaning the registry of all traces of the control and re-installing with the latest control. We also tried registering manually as you suggested. In the end, the only think that really worked in this environment was to delete and re-create the user profiles on the Citrix Server. We can only guess but this might be a problem in the HKEY_CURRENT_USERS registry under Hyper-V virtual environment.

Hello HJBrown,

Unfortunately we do not have anything specific in mind that might be causing this behaviour.

Stefan
