What annoys one user is fine by another. Take your pick, use single page mode or continuous page mode. The default for fullscreen mode is single page scrolling (the same as Adobe Reader).

I customised PDF-XChange to suit myself, so I forget how the default installation works. I think, Alter V should pull down the View menu in fullscreen mode from where you can select the display mode.

The interface is highly customisable so make yourself a toolbar or shortcut to use in fullscreen mode. I have a single toolbar at the bottom of the window with all of the tools that I need (though I rarely use fullscreen mode).

Add a custom toolbar for fullscreen mode, add the continuous view icon to it, and add shortcuts to show/hide the toolbar, and to enable continuous page mode.

What does this have to do with anything? Why should I give a rat's scrote about what annoys other users, because I'm a dumbass! and I only care about what annoys ME
 You seem to have a problem with English. What is it that you don't understand?

The default has to be one or the other. The current default in fullscreen is the same as Adobe Reader — single page mode. If you don't like it, change the view mode to continuous mode. To do that you need to create a shortcut or a toolbar icon. How to do that is explained at the link I gave you.

Unfortunately, some users don't explain the problem clearly, so we're left guessing what the best solution will be for them.

Maybe mnfcp was having problems with the asynchronous redraw issue reported in an earlier thread about viewing slideshow presentations, or maybe I guessed right that he wanted the view mode to default to continuous in fullscreen.

I couldn't find any way at all to switch page view modes in Adobe Reader while in fullscreen. I presume that it is possible.

I think it would help to have a toolbar in fullscreen mode by default, and perhaps some default shortcuts for switching page view modes. I use Ctrl Page Up and Ctrl Page Down for Single Page and Continuous mode respectively.

Hi Bhikkhu,

I do feel that the comments made by mnfcp are missing :)

On the slow scrolling in full screen mode I think there would be some implementation in ver3.

As for the menus, I recently got a request for a "folding" menu that would appear when you are near it which might be a good thing for FullScreen mode but this is still just a suggestion and is up to the dev team to tell whether it's possible and will it be included at all.

Best,
Stefan

Just updated to version 2.5.208. The problem remains, as in the previous version.

No matter how I set my preferences, scrolling stops at the end of the page, and the next page jumps up, so its top is aligned with the top of the screen.

I would greatly appreciate learning how to coax the viewer to provide a continuous display of pages. In the meantime, I must set Adobe viewer to be
my default viewer. Quite disappointing. Would a support person provide an answer?

Thanks in advance.

Hello amnon gordon,

And welcome to our forums.

You start with "This is not fixed" - when this has never actually been a problem in our Viewer.
Please switch to full screen mode (F12 Key), then press the F9 key to show the main menu. From the main menu go to View -> Page Layout -> Continuous and you will have your pages scrolling the way you want them in full screen mode. Then just press F9 again to close the main menu and continue reading!

Best,
Stefan

Thank you, Stefan, for the quick reply.

I tried the procedure and it worked (I was able to scroll continuously), but ONLY AS LONG AS I REMAINED IN FULL-SCREEN MODE. When I exited that mode, the display returned to full-page mode (continuous display was off).

I don't use full-screen often. My monitor is large, and I usually have several windows open at the same time.

Is there a way to engage continuous scrolling outside of full-screen?

Thanks again for your reply.

Hi Gordon,

View --> Page Layout --> Continuous or the icon in the bottom right corner of the Viewer (when default settings are applied) and finally you could apply a custom keyboard shortcut: http://www.docu-track.com/knowledgebase ... r-commands
