Exchanging documents with markup with non PDF-Xchange users

Hi,

I marked up a document with highlighting and sticky notes. I saved and sent the document to a colluegue who could not see them when she opened them. She is using adobe reader. Is it true then that the markup is not saved within the document?

Please update your version to the latest.
Older versions of the program didn't write your changes before sending document by email.

I am using version 2.0 build 45. Can you confirm that my collegue should be able to see my markup when using adobe reader? i.e. the markup is contained within the saved pdf file.

Hi,

Your program version is too old.
Probably, you have sent the unchanged (the original, without your markups) document to your colleague,
Older versions of our Viewer didn't auto-save changes before sending by email.
That is - the sent document does not contain your changes(markups).
If you check in the sent folder of your mail client and open the attachment sent you will see the original file as well

Please update your copy to the latest.
In the current version the application saves automatically all your changes before sending by email.

I am using the latest version. I am not using PDF-Xchange to send the email. I save it first and then attach the file. Can you please answer my question about where the markup data is stored?

Sure. All annotations are stored in the PDF file itself - as required and described by the PDF Specification.
