Pages displayed with lines

Post by ncc1701zzz »

Hello.

Please excuse me if this problem has already been reported.

I have a scanned PDF that when rendered, it is displayed with some ugly horizontal and vertical gray lines. It displays OK in Acrobat Reader.

Maybe the scanned images are composed by horizontal strips and there is some misalignment.

I have uploaded a extract of 4 pages here, but the problem is present in all pages:

Hello ncc1701zzz,

When scanning documents some PDF creators are splitting the page into smaller images, and because of floating point rounding (the coordinates of the images inside the PDF coordinate system and the convertion to screen) there are tiny "gaps" between the separate images.

Adobe is compensating for those gaps and so should we but sometimes it seems like it's not working.

I just spoke with one of the project leaders and he told me that we are working on a fix for this type of files. The fix will probably be implemented in ver3 though.

Regards,
Stefan

Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes, it looks like some minor misalignment in the pictures.

I'll wait for the new version!
