Possible to set default active tool when opening document?

In 90% of the cases i open a PDF, i need to select text and copy it. So it's very annoying that i need to use the mouse to select the text selection tool every time i open a document.

Is it possible to have the application remember which tool you had selected, when closing a document? If not, can you please add this feature?

I also would like the possibility to select text from the Outlook previewer...

at present there is no way to force the Viewer to open with the select tool active rather than the hand tool. I have made the suggestion to the dev team for consideration for the V3 release being worked on right now. V3 is due out late spring and will sport a number of new features, this may be one of them, it remains to be seen.

Time has come for this function to be properly implemented in adobe reader X. I must say, Adobe did a great job in regard of the simplicity of its preview mode menu (Although the way they did it with the overlay menu always covering part of the pdf text is really annoying!)

So I'd also ask for this again: possibility to set the default active tool for xchange viewer (normal viewer window AND browser plugin viewer)

Please wait for Version 3 - nothing more can be done in the current release as all efforts are on the new versions and only critical items will be attended to in the current version - no feature changes or additions I am afraid.
