printing has background color
Is there some sort of a fix in the works for the above issue? I know that if I print some documents from the viewer, they have an off white background on our color printer, but if I print that same document from Adobe, there is no background.
I can send the document if needed.
Thanks,

Hello TMiB03,
A sample document would be quite helpful indeed.
Also please state which build of our Viewer are you using?
Regards,
Stefan

Re: printing has background color
I am using Build 49.0. I also noticed that when using the page numbering tool in PDF Tools 4, that when you have the correction box turned on, the correction box prints in an off white color on our printer when using pdf xchange, but does not when using adobe. Also, when Wipeouts/background masks are used in AutoCAD, they print out as well. It seems, in the simplest terms, that pdf xchange handles "wipeouts" differently than adobe, and our color printer doesnt like it.

Thanks TMiB03,
I should have asked this one as well in my first reply, but which exactly is the printer (exact model name) and also if you can provide a link for the drivers used on it that would be lovely too.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: printing has background color
I upgraded to build 50, and the issue is still there. Any ideas on a workaround or fix (other than always printing from Adobe?)

Re: printing has background color
Can you send me screenshot of you "Color Management" page located on Viewer's Preferences page?
Also, please try to use "Off" preset if you are using different.

Re: printing has background color
To be honest it is very strange why on your side white rectangle isn't white with this settings.
If you have any color picker software, can you check the color of page when it is rendered by the viewer?
See screenshot from my comp:

Note, background of the page is white (255, 255, 255).

Re: printing has background color
I downloaded a color picker software, and they both show up as white on the screen, but when they print, Adobe's prints fine, but Xchange prints with an off green background. If I switch the Conversion options to Microsoft instead of the default, the background is an off blue.

Re: printing has background color
has anyone else been able to determine the cause, and is a fix in the works? It really affects our productivity, as every time we forget to open Adobe to print, we have to reprint our documents. As of right now that appears to be our only workaround - print all documents from Adobe Reader.

Hi TMiB03,
I am afraid that we were unable to get any closer to reproducing this.
Just a wild guess but can you try using other drivers as the RPCS one from your link is two years old.
Best,
Stefan

Re: printing has background color
I have tried every printer driver they have. Based on our results with printing from Adobe, I dont think it is as much a driver issue as it is how the information is sent to the printer. Perhaps it is how the file is rendered when sent? Does PDFXV send everything as an image? or as actual font? Based on my experience, I would say it has to do with putting white rectangles in the background, and them not printing out as invisible.

Re: printing has background color
Yes, into you document there is white rectangle behind the text. Problem is because for some reason, the Viewer calculates it's color not as pure white (255, 255, 255), but as almost white, for example, (254, 255, 255).
You can try to print using option "Print As Image" on the Print dialog - in this case viewer rasterise the page and send is as image to the printer.

Re: printing has background color

Re: printing has background color
Does your printer have an option to change used color space: RGB or CMYK?
