Sidebar or Panels for bookmarks and comments disappeared

Since version 2.0.53.0 I'm experiencing problems with the sidebar or panels for the bookmarks, comments and page thumbnails. There was always the possibility to make the sidebar disappear so that only a small bar remained which allowed to restore the sidebar again by clicking on it. But now every time I close a PDF the sidebar is completely closed, so that I have to reactivate it again by selecting "View"->"Bookmarks" or "Page Thumbnails" in the menu. Is it possible that I have to activate a certain function in the preferences menu to restore this feature again?

It depends on how you close the panel. If you click the x at top right, the panel is turned off. However, if you click the gripper half-way down the edge of the panel, it docks it to the side of the PDF-XChange window.

and you could always use a keyboard shortcut to open/close the panes too.

They have default bindings that can be seen when using the menu items you suggest and can also be customized: http://www.docu-track.com/knowledgebase ... r-commands

THX, but I think you misunderstood me: I didn't close the panels by myself. I always leave them open or use the gripper, but they close by themselves now. This didn't happen in earlier versions before 2.0.53.0.

Besides I also didn't need to restore every panel before. There have been icons for comments, preview and bookmarks once I've open these panels, but now since the sidebar closes automatically when I close the PDFs the shortcuts for the panels are also gone, so that I have to open every panel through the menu again.

By default the preferences in PDF-XChange Viewer are set to restore the panels as they were last time that document was opened. If you have customized your config can you save it, then reset to default settings ands see if that helps?

If it is still happening for you it looks like we are going to have to do a little more investigation. Can I ask you to use the built in problem reporting the Viewer has and include the zip files and a description of what you are seeing please.

For any users looking at this thread - the issue was resolved by an update and setting the default view to "Automatic".
