There are only a few features missing from being perfect.
a) a split screen like in Word would be wonderful. So you could read two different parts of a pdf. In scientific articles you often have to jump to the end of the file to take a look at the references. The Forward and Back buttons are ok, but splitscreen would be perfect !
b) a second nice feature would be the ability to customize the middle mouse button! the standard scroll feature is some kind of impractical. A customizable shortcut would be marvelous.
Anyway: All thumbs up for your product! I recommand at to a lot of other students and all of them are happy .
thanks for the kind words on the software. Did you know that you can tile your open documents vertically or horizontally by switching Tabbed documents off? In the Viewer preferences uncheck Tabs:
is what you want.
The Toolbars are highly customizable so if there is a particular function that you would like to assign the middle mouse button you can do so easily. Take a look at this article for details on how to set custom keys for Tools (includes both Keyboard and Mouse assignments) http://www.docu-track.com/knowledgebase ... r-commands

The first hint is very good, thank you! But I think in my everyday practice (more than 10 tabs ), it might be not useful. Maybe I could open another instance and put it besides the main window.
The second hint doesn't work and I did this already . I can't assign the mousebuttons. Nothings happens, when i click them.
But maybe it is possible to integrate an option (in preferecnes) to change the middle mouse button function from "strange scroll hand tool" to the real "hand tool" feature? That would be nice! In acrobat it's the space bar you can use for that.
In our Viewer if you have selected a tool different than the hand tool, pressing the space bar will also temporarily switch to the hand, and then you can use your left mouse button.
(Provided you are not in text input mode inside any tool of course).
oh, I changed space bar function to hand tool 2 years ago. Never recognized that. But middle button would be even more functional :/. This "scroll hand" you get, when pressing the middle mouse button, often is annoying, because you have to move the mouse veeery cautiously. If you want to scroll fast, it often is to imprecise. Hand tool is far better!
I would have to disagree here, as there already is another way to switch to the hand tool, so it's better to keep the wheel with different functionality so that the hand and the wheel can complement each other, rather than remove one just to have the other available in more ways.
Is there any way to start a poll here? I would be very interested in the number of people, who use the middle mouse button scrolling! It's very difficult to handle and often annoying.
Thanks for all the input adsfqewr, but it is up to the dev team to weight all feature requests,
and unfortunately this one does fall behind.
We might reconsider it again in the future though.
