How to install PXC-Viewer with SCCM

Post by risky behaviour »

Hi all,
I'm new to sccm and PXC-Viewer and I'm trying to learn both by doing a test deploy of this app , does anyone have any experience they can share - ideally something a novice could follow :D , thanks.

I've tried the following from a command line to see what would happen :
msiexec.exe /i pxcviewer_x64.msi /quiet ADDLOCAL="F_Viewer" , but if I look in the event logs I see an error saying an administrator has to approve the install ( I am logged in with administrator rights ? ) , client is Win7_x64

Hi risky behaviour,

I don't know much about SCCM but I can help you with the msi installer strings and switches. A couple of things that do come to mind though:

1. Administrative Rights is not the same ad the true Administrator account or (I believe) runas administrator. I would suggest using the "Run as Administrator" option to open a command prompt while testing.

2. For the latest help on the switches available to the MSI start it in graphical mode (just double click the msi file) then on the very first screen of the installer you will see a help button. This will display a help file with all your switches and options.
