Sorting in Multi document search

Hello,
Thank you for your very good PDF-XChange Viewer, I am using it daily and it gives me a huge productivity boost.

Currently it is not possible to sort the results of a multi document search. When searching a lot of documents it can be helpful to sort the results of a search by file name and creation date.

For a long time I have been using the file name sorting feature to organize my files by adding respective prefixes to filenames to order them (e.g. dates or _ to put a file a the top). Because nearly all file dialogs in the Windows environment sort their content this works well. It would speed up my work flow and probably that of many others that use the multi document search if the results were sortable.

It is sorting the results even now, by document, and then it's arranging the results for each document in the order they appear in the respective file:

The sorting of the hits in one single file is fine.
The request I had was about the order of the documents themselves. In your example "Invoice.pdf" is listed before "formbr2.pdf" even though "f" appears before "I" in the alphabet. In your example that is understandable if the documents you have open are in that order too.

When searching in a folder, the order in which documents are listed is random, this is where the sorting would be helpful.

I see the difference you are describing. I have asked the dev team to take a look at whether this is something that could be added in a future version. I'll post back here with their thoughts/comments.
