Browser plugin customized keyboard shortcuts not working

Post by trfndr »

I am using windows 7 and Chrome 7 dev on a netbook and have the latest 2.0.55 build.

The plugin is working wonderfully with Chrome. I have customized some shortcuts that work fine in the standalone program but they don't seem to work in the documents opened by the plugin inside the browser. Instead, only the standard shortcuts are working. For example, I have assigned F10 to show/hide the Pages Navigation Toolbar. I used F11 to hide all toolbars (a standard shortcut) and it worked but F10 did not work. Is it that custom shortcuts are stored in my user directory but the plugin uses an all-users settings? How can I change these? I tried to run the program as administrator but it seems to also use my customized shortcuts.

Many thanks for the highly customized great pdf reader.

Not using Chrome, nor Windows 7 here, but the plugin can be customised independently of the standalone version. The plugin must also have focus for the shortcuts to work — if the tab has focus the browser's shortcuts will work.

The stand alone Viewer and the Browser Plugin store their preferences independently. If you have one set up the way you like it then you could export/import those settings from one into the other. See this article for importing/exporting settings from/to the Viewer: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowled ... nge-Viewer

Then I think it is a matter of focus as Bhikkhu mentioned.

Exporting/Importing did the trick! Thanks Paul!

I know about the browser focus thing. As I said, I use F11 inside the PDF to hide all the toolbars. To do import from inside the plugin, F9 will show the menu bar to show the edit menu and access the import.
