Hello frankrizzo,

By shrinking do you mean the dimensions of the pages or the file size?

As for setting a default view, please open our Viewer and go to Edit -> Preferences -> Page Display, and you can set those up under the "Initial Display" subsection.

Best,

Thanks i think i had to uncheck that retore last recently used box for it to work

I want to shrink the file size. For instance i have a 16 page pdf that i scanned and want to email someone but its too big for email. I dont really care about quality.

I am afraid that you will need our Printing driver in order to be able to "compress" the graphics in an existing file. Neither the Viewer nor the Tools offers tools that can do this.

Hello frankrizzo,

It's called PDF XChange Standard, and can be downloaded and tested for free just as any other of our products:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... e-standard

If you decide to purchase it, and already have a Viewer license it will be cheaper to upgrade to the full PRO package (the pro package contains both of the printing driver and our Viewer, as well as PDF-Tools - for some extra PDF manipulation options).

Best,
Stefan

i found a program that does that for free called PDFill. I also did not see an option to decrease the size of the PDF in your paid program or one that leaves a water mark.

HI frankrizzo,

PDF-XChange 4 Print Driver is pretty good at reducing the file size, especially when optimizing images. Without running bench tests to compare I suspect it might perform better than the free application.
