Fullscreen mode not available for pdfs in firefox

When I open pdfs with pdf xchange in firefox, the View>Fullscreen (F12) option is grayed out.

I can use F11 to hide the menus of both firefox and xchange, which gives me a sort of pseudo fullscreen, but the scroll bar and status bar remain, and if I zoom out far enough that a pdf page doesn't cover the entire width of the screen pdf xchange's gray background shows (as opposed to true fullscreen mode where the background colour fills to the edges of the monitor).

Fullscreen works fine if I open the pdf outside the browser, but I'm reading mostly research papers and I'm using Zotero, a reference manager that has a plugin for firefox, which let's me automatically save annotations to an online server.

Is fullscreen mode, just not an option in firefox? If so, is there a way I could workaround to make the menu hidden (F11) view more like fullscreen (maybe by changing pdf xchange's background colour, or hiding the scroll bar)?

PS: This program is great. Combined with an online reference manager it's the best way to read and annotate papers for research.

You are correct, there is a conflict with Firefox F11 and our F11 functionality. I will enter you request as a feature request with our developers and post more as I hear back from them on your request.

PDF-XChange Viewer uses F11 key to toggle all toolbars visibility.
To solve the "problem", there are two ways:
1. Using Viewer's customization feature assign toggle toolbars visibility to another key in the viewer. In this case, F11 will be handled by FireFox;
2. Use menu View -> Full Screen in Firefox to switch to full screen.

F11 is working properly for me in firefox and pdfXchange. However, even when I view firefox in fullscreen mode, and hide toolbars in pdfXchange, the scrollbar, status bar, and background are still showing.

This doesn't happen if I fullscreen in the application outside of firefox.

In the feature request I've submitted, due to the conflicts of fullscreen in a browser have discussed along with the F11 - Hide toolbars and menus, the developers will be adding view toggles in the browser plugin for hide/view status bar, scrollbars, and set background color. So the browser plugins can emulate Fullscreen best they can. That should work fine. Since the team is quite busy preparing the release of Version 5 this month, I cannot say which future build these options will be available in at this time. As I find out more from them I will inform you of a timeline when I know more.

The feature request is being considered for implementation in Version 3 of the Viewer scheduled for release in early 2011, they have too much work right now to fit it in prior to the next major version release.
