Change PDF-X Viewer Pro and Office add-in settings remotely

Hi,

I'm the tech support guy for a branch office. We use PDF-Xchange Pro v2 and the Office Addin v4.

I have to touch a large number of workstations to make sure they are creating new PDFs at v1.7 rather than the default, which seems to be v1.4.

Can I do this remotely via an ini file edit or registry hack? Or do I have to physically go to each and every PC and do it manually?
I could uninstall remotely and then reinstall with a settings template, but I don't want my users to lose the other settings they may have changed. Only the PDF version concerns me here.

OK, so I found a settings.dat file in a portable version I have at home. Not much help there as it's not plain text.
I also couldn't find the same file in an installed full version here at work.

Still looking for suggestions.

Hello infraspace,

You can add a new DWORD key "SpecVersion" with a value 17 in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFViewer\Operations\NewDocument

Or you could export the settings from one machine (where you have made lots of changes and would like to distribute this as the default to all users) and then import them on all other machines.

Excellent, thanks very much for the info. My users mostly use the Office plugin to make PDFs from Word documents. Would this have the desired effect on that process as well, or would another registry edit be required?

The Driver and Viewer are two separate applications so their settings are also separate, and the Office add-in also has a separate set on it's own

for the Office Add-in you need to create a new
DWORD
Specification with a value 7 in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDF-XChange 4.0\Office Addin\Printer\General

And for the printing driver this is saved per profile
DWORD Specification with value 7 this time in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDF-XChange 4.0\Drivers\PDF-XChange 4.0\Profiles\Current\General
