Indexed Searches

PDF-XChange is already faster than the competition at searching PDF files for text, but indexed searches would take seconds rather than minutes. WordPerfect introduced indexed searching of documents years ago.

What triggered this idea was someone asking how to search a stack of PDF files on his web site. Suppose someone has hundreds of journals in PDF, and site visitors want to find a particular article. Is it feasible for such an indexed search to work online as well as on the local network?

I use archivarius3000, can do something like that. I have indexed my pdf files and run "server" in archivarius3000, and then when I'm at work or anywhere, I can search in seconds all my pdf files through the web browser.

Apologies for the delay - we have already scheduled such an expansion of our Ifilter options for V3 when released which will expand the search behaviour in the desired manner we expect.
