I apologize if this topic was already discussed. I just was not able to find relevant posts...
First of all - PDF-XChange Viewer is IMHO the best out there in comparison to all non-Adobe.
However my question to the project management is whether there are plans to improve rendering quality. This is in reference in particular to text rendering. In result of comparison testing it is currently in the middle - not nearly as good as good as rendering by Adobe or Nitro PDF (This is not to say Nitro is better - it has much more limited functionality and its own graphic and special characters rendering issues). PDF-XChange Viewer has better rendering than Foxit and some others, however.
If rendering can be improved to come closer to Adobe, then this would be one fantastic piece of software. This is important to improve in order to standardize on PDF-XChange across the board...

I don't know why not. I just entered "rendering" in the search box, and found this post on the first page of results.tracker1 wrote:I apologize if this topic was already discussed. I just was not able to find relevant posts...

Re: Rendering Quality
Bhikkhu,
Thank you! This was fantastic thread I missed and David P. did incredible effort to provide visual proof that the font rendering is deficient.
Now, taking from here, I am concerned that this thread was started in 2008 and ended in May 2010 with PDF-Xchange leaders promissing the new rendering engine, fixing the rendering issue by the past summer. Sad is it took so long for the Tracker development to acknowledge this problem. Now the summer passed and no mention of this in sight...
Question: When the promissed new rendering engine will finally be available? Is there any beta available we can test?
Please do not spoil the quality of PDF-XChanger with deficient quality of the font rendering, too many users were likely using other PDF viewers because of this staring in the face deficiency and even Ghacks posted results of testing where even Sumatra had superior to XChange rendering quality...

Re: Rendering Quality
Hi reacker1,
thanks for the interest in the Viewer. PDF-XChange Viewer will be going to V3 early in 2011. V3 will offer improvements in the rendering engine - support stroke adjusting, improved text rendering and more.
This is a major new version for us with a lot of new features and improvements, not just the rendering. I'm sure you'll appreciate that it is better done right than rushed.
We are looking at having beta testers, though a beta is not currently available. If you'd like to be a beta tester please send an email to support@pdf-xchange.com indicating so and I'll add you to the request list.

Hi again tracker1,
I didn't get an email from you. The list is email based, can you write to paul@tracker-software.com otherwise you might get overlooked when the time comes to choose some beta testers.
regards
