Re: Opening Several Documents at Once
Select the files in Windows Explorer and drag them into the PDF-XChange Viewer window.

here's no command-line way without having to open PDF-XChange first?Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:Select the files in Windows Explorer and drag them into the PDF-XChange Viewer window.

Bhikkhu, putting PDF-X into the SendTo folder works to -- and on multiple files simultaneously.Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:Select the files in Windows Explorer and drag them into the PDF-XChange Viewer window.

Hello Chuck,
Glad to see that you have found yourself that the command line can be used to launch our Viewer and open files at the same time.
Bhikkhu gave you the most obvious solution as you didn't specify you need to skip loading the Viewer first, and this is usually enough for most people
Best,
Stefan

Re: Opening Multiple pages
There is no need for any send to tricks. Right-click, open with will also work fine, unless you have the preferences set to "Allow multiple instances." In which case one copy will open with each selected file.

Re: Opening Multiple pages
Bhikkhu is right (as usual
) - integration into Windows shell means it can call the viewer as it opens the files, either in separate instances or tabbed. It also means that you can print multiple documents this way without having to see the PDF-XChange GUI...

Bhikkhu, When I just tried that with three documents, it only opened one of the three.

Re: Opening Multiple pages
Interesting, and potentially useful, but this feature needs some work. Also true for opening files with "Open with" from the right-click menu.Paul - Tracker Supp wrote:It also means that you can print multiple documents this way without having to see the PDF-XChange GUI...
I selected PDF files for four Unicode Character sets: Latin Extended A, B, C, D and printed them to a PDF Factor printer driver. The resulting order was D, C, A, B. Opening them gave variable results too depending on where I right-clicked: D, A, B, C or C, D, A, B, etc.
I think in all cases, they should open or print in the selected order. This may be a Windows XP bug rather a bug in PDF-XChange, and so beyond your control.

Re: Opening Multiple pages
Bhikkhu, I'm not certain whether it's PDF-Xchange or me... I went back and set up three PDF files, but when I selected the three, and then right-clicked on them and then "Open", only one opened. But I found three instances of the process loaded.Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:Interesting, and potentially useful, but this feature needs some work. When tried it again, it worked, giving me a tab for each of the files. But then when I tried it a third time, I got the same (wrong) results as in the first case.

Re: Opening Multiple pages
Hello Chuck,
Are you also testing different settings in the mean time?
Maybe it is that you set to open each document in a new window at one of the tries and then to open them as tabbed the other?
Best,
Stefan
