I am looking for a method to create a stamp that has several "forms" to fill in for AP coding, need title bar on stamp as well. Then would like to save pdf with stamp secured and non editable, also showing author as well.
Any suggestions out there. ?

Re: Create "stamp form" and save on doc for cost coding
Hi artmaat,
stamps are technically an annotation and as such are not going to support form functions. Even if it were something that we created, it would be outside the PDF specifications and would not be usable in other Viewers.
We will be adding the ability to create "Dynamic Stamps" that can take System Variables like Date, user name etc in V3 of the Viewer. Perhaps you could do something with that? Currently the Viewer will display dynamic stamps it is the ability to create them from scratch that is coming in V3.

Thanks for reply. We basically have three or four repetitive codes to put on pdf, comment box may be ok for now. Is there any way to "save" or flatten the comment so its stays imprinted on pdf and can't be modified and is always visible? When do you see V3 coming?

To flatten comments please use Comments -> Flatten Comments... command from viewer's menu.

Tried that. Comment dialog box disappears. All I see is icon for comment and can't get back the box. I want the box and input branded on pdf where it cant be altered.
If comment box cannot be saved like this, is there another tool that I can use that will capture my user info, date and time, and user input, and then save or etch into pdf?
If I could create a stamp, capture user, date, time, and user input, and then save that would be great.

Hi artmaat,
what you will see after flattening the comments depends on which type of comment you are using. If you were to use the "Text Box" tool for example the content would be visible.
If you have access to a suitable Dynamic Stamp from another source you can import it into our Viewer and that will be visible.

Re: Create "stamp form" and save on doc for cost coding
Ok so I am ok with the comment stamp not branded onto page..
Next issue i have is .... I need to be able to drag a page from withing thumbnail view on left into another folder. Ie we are sorting AP bulk scanning and needing to drop into proper AP folder right from the thumbnail on left after viewing in main screen.
In full function mode i am having trouble saving a comment style including the text header of the note or comment.
Also ,, is there a way to insure that PDF Xchange Viewer can open in full function when "called" from Xplorer file browser or at least grab a preformated comment format?
See attached pic

Re: Create "stamp form" and save on doc for cost coding
Hi artmaat,
what you are seeing there is as you have noted not the full PDF-XChange Viewer but a preview generated using shell extensions. There is no way to drag that file in the way you illustrate in the current version.
I do think however that this would be a most useful feature were it possible. I am not one of the dev team and cannot tell you if it is even technically practical to do what you have asked. I can however ask the team if this is a suitable candidate for a feature in some future version of the Viewer. I believe you are wanting to drag only selected page(s), thus 'extracting' pages to a new file when you do this right?

Hi artmaat
no promises to deliver but I did make a formal feature request and ask for feedback in the practicality to implement. We'll see what the team think and I'll post the answer here.
