Chrome not using PDFxchange addon

Post by paul1149 »

I'm in Chrome, Beta channel, up-to-date: 8.0.552.200, on Win7. I have just downloaded and installed the latest pdfxchange viewer, set to display in browser.

This arrangement worked fine for a year, but lately Chrome is not using pdfx. It seems to be using a very slimmed-down reader of its own, that has merely four visible user controls.

Hi paul1149,

if you enter about:plugins in the Address bar you will find a page where you can enable and disable the active plugin.

Chrome PDF Viewer, PDF-XChange Viewer and Adobe Reader 9 - Version: 9.4.1.222 are in my list. I did note that a recent update in Adobe Reader activated a previously deactivated plugin. Disable all PDF plugins but ours and you should get things working again.

Paul - that did it. Chrome's native pdf renderer was enabled, as was yours. I guess Chrome sticks with its own by default. I disabled the Chrome plugin and yours took over.

Thanks,
p.

Excellent ;-)
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
