I frequently use the advanced search pane in order to search through documents in different folders.
It's hard to distinguish between similar paths, which don't fit completely in the search pane without expanding it.
It would be nice if a popup with the complete path could appear when hovering over a previous searched path or only show the beginning and the end of the path like in "recent files".
I hope it's clear what I mean.
Here's a also screenshot:
Microsoft created a whole bunch of problems like this one with their directory structure. I am tempted to move all of my documents to a virtual drive just to shorten the path to something like:
O:\PDF Files\
I have already done that to install Opera on an encrypted drive, and now store my recent documents in subfolders of:
O:\Documents\
We rarely need to know the whole path. Its the file name that is important, but sometimes there may be documents of the same name in different paths. Truncating the path to the drive letter and just showing the current folder is good.
C:\...\PDF Files\Filename.pdf would work in most cases.
