how to edit text

I can't figure out how to... wait for it... edit text. I can highlight text in a pdf, but then I can't type and edit the text. I don't want to add comments or annotations. I don't want to make a new text element and write on top of existing text. I want to select existing text and edit it, as if I was using a real word processor. Do we have that amazing capability? Am I just retarded?

A quick search for "Editing" before you posted would have found this thread.

Version 3.0 is now scheduled to be released early next year, and that should have some ability to edit PDF files.

That is correct in the current version of the licensed viewer you can cover content, add new content over top and then use Comments->Flatten Comments to push your changes in to the base document.

Ensure when you have completed your changes to flatten the comments.

We are all very excited about Version 3 of the Viewer and being able to offer simple direct base content editing in the new year.

You mean that free viewer will have option for some basic text editing? Or I have that misunderstood?

Hello ZoNi,

The Viewer will have this feature, but it would be a premium one I am afraid, and would require you to obtain a license.
There would still be lots of free features in the Viewer, but this one is unlikely to be one of them.
