Adding comments and then save, sometimes gets stuck

Hi there!


I have several users over the last few months that are complaining to me that they will go through a PDf, add a bunch of comments and then save the pdf. The pdf saving bar gets stuck at a certain amount (both bottom and top bars in the saving dialog) and the application locks up forcing the user to end task on the application and loosing all their changes.

Needless to say this is upsetting people and i cant seem to find a cause. The file is on a network share in most cases, but they are often different files that are the problem. Doing similar commenting with adobe pro works fine. Moving the file to the desktop of the local machine does not help with the problem.

Any idea? anyone with a similar problem? i cant really find a commonality. All pdfxchange viewers are up to the newest release, computers are completely different. OS is windows XP.

Just wondering if anyone else had this problem or some sort of solution for it. I know its kind of vague as a problem description.

Can you open the Viewer and goto Help->About PDF-XChange Viewer. And let us know which version and build you are running.

I would suggest as a first step to download and install the latest version 2.5.188 from our website and see if that solves the issue.

Oh i had no idea that there was a newer build! i just always click "check for updates" to try and find the newest version and then push it out to the domain.


I will consider pushing this out when i have taken a look at it.

Sounds good, maybe test it one machine with the files affected on the local machine and from the network share.
