Using FireFox 3.6.10, Win7 Professional, PDF-Xchange professional latest version.
I now find that when displaying pdfs within FireFox the toolbars no longer display.
Is there a way to correct this?

Hi Victor,
Click within the plugin region to give it focus.
Then:
F8 - to toggle toolbars
F9 - to toggle menu.

Re: Toolbars not appearing when pdf displayed within Firefox 3.6
OK my situation sounds similar but I think it is different. I am putting it under this thread for future searchers who might end up here like me but not have the same problem/solution as above.
I am fairly sure that when I used to open a PDF from within Firefox that it did NOT download the file and fire up PDF-XChange Viewer, but rather opened the PDF file within the browser and gave me a toolbar of PDF-XChange Viewer controls in Firefox (like a plugin?). Somehow I have lost the PDF-XChange Viewer toolbar that used to appear and now it downloads the file and fires up the complete PDF-Xchange Viewer program. The PDF-XChange viewer plug-in shows up in the Firefox plugin list and it is enabled. I tried reinstalling PDF-XChange Viewer but to no avail. Any thoughts anyone?

Hi PeterV,
Open the Viewer goto Edit->Preferences->File Associations if Display in Browser is not checked, check it and click Apply. If it is checked uncheck it click Apply; close the viewer, reopen it go back to the same preference and recheck it and click Apply.
Test the browser plugin again.
Best,
Chris

Re: Toolbars not appearing when pdf displayed within Firefox 3.6
Chris,
I am having the same situation as PeterV.
Until I updated to the latest Pro version (2.5 Build 190.0) yesterday everything was fine. If I would left click select a pdf link on a web page I would be provided a selection box to open with Pdf-XChange, save, etc. As you recommend above I went to the Edit->Preferences->File Associations in viewer. "Display PDF in Browser" was check-marked after the update. I un-checked and also pressed "Make Default PDF Viewer" then pressed Apply and OK. Closed the viewer and even closed and re-opened Firefox (ver 3.6.13).
Went to the Tracker site -> feature comparison page -> Download this Chart as a PDF clicked on it and it still opened in the browser. No choices were offered.
I do not want PDF's to automatically open in my browser. Are there any additional settings in the new version that I am missing?
Thanks in advance

Re: Toolbars not appearing when pdf displayed within Firefox 3.6
Hi Bob,
When you open the Viewer, goto Edit->Preferences->File Associations and uncheck Display in browser, Click Apply and OK. This should allow Firefox to open the File using the default system application for PDF files. You can check in Firefox Addon section if you have any other PDF readers installed, that their browser plugins are disabled.
If the PDF-XChange Viewer is set as the default PDF Viewer, the PDF will be downloaded and opened in the Application Viewer.
HTH,
Chris

Re: Toolbars not appearing when pdf displayed within Firefox 3.6
Hi Chris,
I've done exactly as you said above but the PDF's were still opening in the browser.
Even re-booted to see if that would help and it didn't.
What I had not done yet was go to the Add-ons - Plugins in Firefox. I do not have any other pdf viewers installed so none were showing. BUT, I noticed the PDF-XChange plug-in was enabled. So I disabled it everything is good now. Whenever I click on a pdf link on a web page I get the pop-up to open with PDF-XChange, save etc.
When the user selects Edit->Preferences->File Associations and uncheck Display in browser, Click Apply and OK is PDF-XChange supposed to disable the plug-in in place of doing it manually like I did?
If so, the latest update is not doing it. At least on my machine.
Thanks for your help in figuring this out.

Re: Toolbars not appearing when pdf displayed within Firefox 3.6
Hi all,
I believe it's the same situation as here https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... =35&t=9555
If you want to be asked to open pdf-file with Pdf-XChange, save it, etc., you have to:
run browser, go to 'Menu/Tools/Options/Applications' and set 'Always Ask' value for 'Adobe Acrobat PDF (application/pdf)' item and press OK.
If you want to "Open PDF Directly" in Firefox (the "Prefrences/FileAssociations/Display in Browser" option should be enabled in our standalone viewer already), you have to:
run browser, go to 'Menu/Tools/Options/Applications' and set 'Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)' value for 'Adobe Acrobat PDF (application/pdf)' item and press OK.
Note: the last Firefox have one small annoying bug: when you have 'Open PDF Directly' already and wanted 'Always Ask' you should:
1. go to 'Menu/Tools/Options/Applications' and set 'Save file' value for 'Adobe Acrobat PDF (application/pdf)' item and press OK.
2. again set 'Always Ask' value for 'Adobe Acrobat PDF (application/pdf)' item and press OK.
Without this 'magic' procedure the Firefox doesn't understand the new 'Always Ask' value after the
previous "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)" value...
