How can I disable some PDF Xchange features?
Hi - I am looking at rolling this product out to our enterprise but don't want people to have access to certain features, such as password protection, comments and markup, etc.... I can turn off the toolbars for these features easily enough but they are still accessible via the menus. Is there any way to turn them off?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi robody,
it is possible in the current version to export your Viewer settings to file and deploy the Viewer then launch it once (scripted?) with the /usep or /importp options. (section 1.8 page 18 of the Viewer manual).
Version 3 of the Viewer, expected to be ready for release Q2 of this year, will have new features to better facilitate customized deployment through Group Policies. This articles describe some of what you can do when deploying PDF-XChange: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgebase/149

That sucks that it has now been pushed off to Q2, our subscription runs out in just a little under a month.

No user will suffer because of this delay - we will provide a free upgrade to any user who purchased on or after Jan 1st 2010, no matter when the new release is delivered and appreciate your patience whilst we prepare and ensure the new version is all we have promised it will be.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Hi robody,
we are expecting to have a 'road map' for V3 in place within the next 7 days where we can make a commitment to the general list of features for V3.
More info on delivery dates and features will also be published in the next 7 days.

Hi there - just wondering if there is an update on when Version 3 will be released. It was expected in Q2 of this year... hopefully it won't be far away!
Cheers,
Robert

Hello Robert,
I am afraid that we can not at this time provide any specific dates - we are working as hard as possible to finish ver3 as soon as possible - but all the information that is available John has already posted in th etopic he has posted a link to.
Best,
Stefan

I am very keen to get Adobe Acrobat out of my organisation but want to take away some of the Viewer features. Any word yet on timeframes?
