Getting Started

Post by rgoodson40 »

I know this is a ridiculous question, but I just downloaded the PDF-XChange Pro 4 SDK and I cannot find any documentation on how to get started. I have an application developed in vb 2008 and I want to add a pdf viewer to it. I cannot find what dll's to reference, what controls to use, etc. to get started with this. Even the example apps don't seem to contain any references to your dlls.

Is there any documetation that I can use to get started?

Thanks,
Reagan

Hi Reagan,

Did you download the seperate PDF-XChange Viewer SDK (requried if you intend to use the ActiveX ?)

https://www.pdf-xchange.com/pdfvSDK.zip

There are doc's in the Help folder under the main install tree and called : PDF-XChange Viewer SDK.pdf

Also there are specific VB app's you shoudl look at first in the VB examples folder and ready to run examples (compiled) in the Bin folder - finally when distributing you must use the file : http://www.tracker-software/PDFXV_dev.exe to install to your clients desktop to ensure correct installation on any 'OS' (windows) - you can call this silently from your own installer and info on this is in the help file.

HTH
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
