Help with Stamp

Post by JTDM »

Hi there

First, thanks to the creators of this top notch bit of software.

Now the query :)
Is it possible with the stamp tool to get it to 'fix' the size of a stamp so it's the same size next time - I've created a stamp of my signature to sign off pdfs, but it's slightly too large and I'm continually re-sizing it. Is this possible at all?

Cheers

Hello JTDM,

I am afraid that the stamp is stored with a given size and you can not change it after you have created the stamp.

So you will need to make the signature with the size you most commonly use once again, and then create the new stamp from the new file.

I myself also have the same problem - made my signature stamp way too big, but as I know it will always be too big so when I want to place a stamp instead of clicking I am clicking and holding the left mouse button to directly drag it to the desired size - this saves me to place it and then reach to resize it - I do both with a single move.

Best,
Stefan

Hi

Thanks for reply.

Fair enough, I'll redo the graphic.

Thanks

Could I extend this topic slightly to include the use of my signature graphic as part of the digital signature?

I have created a smaller graphic which works well as a stamp but when used in the signature it gets re-sized to match the larger signature 'box' and sometimes becomies truncated in the process. Can I resize the default signature 'box' and the graphic within it?

Just found the discussion on "How to Change Size of Digital Signature".
I tried it and whilst it works fine, the drag works by first wiping-out the original default box and dragging a new box (but with no preview) from the original cursor-point (top left corner of the original default box). I don't find this very intuitive and I'd prefer to have:
1 Don't provide a default signature box unless its size and orientation are configurable (as part of the management options)
2 Make box draggable from corner diagonally opposite to the cursor-point - for consistency, use standard box dragging methodology where possible.
3 Make bottom left corner of the default box the cursor-point - this is a better location for english text - make the cursor-point location selectable for other fonts/languages
4 Add preview capability, particularly when re-sizing the box
5 Add facility to manage digital signatures and default box size to the Edit/Preferences dialogue, instead of only when actually signing a document.

Hello jcaiken,

For the first of your three latest posts - I am not sure I can fully understand the situation, but is this a Signature Field that is already existing in the document?
If it is - then it is with fixed dimensions, and we have to accomodate the size of the image for the digital signature to it.

As for the comments in your second post - can you please elaborate a bit on point 2 - I am not sure I understand that either - but you can drag the signature in any direction you like from the initial click position.
As for the rest of the comments - 1,3,4 and 5 I will need to pass those to our developers for evaluation and consideration.

Best,
Stefan

Hello again jcaiken,

I have received some further comments from our developers, and they are that we will not make any significant changes in this respect in ver2.5 of our Viewer, and we will see how things will go with ver3, but are also not making any promises.

Best,
Stefan
