Drop Down Boxes Wont Stay Open

Okay, just recently the drop down boxes are closing on there own and you have to try to race to click on what you want before it closes. For example if you wanted to print a document you would click file but the dropdown options close before you have a chance to click print. If anyone can help it would be appreciated, thanks.

can I ask what build you are using and if there were any changes made to your system recently? The current build is 193. I suggest you try the following:
* unintsall your current build using the Windows Control Panel
* restart the PC
* install the current build https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFXVwer.zip

It says I am running 193 and also I haven't installed anything new and the veiwer is the only program having this problem, thanks.

can I ask you to use the Viewer to reprt this? Help --> Report a Problem and be sure to include the 4 zip files it wants to attach. Most important of these would be loaded_modules.zip. It is possible that something is grabbing focus on the menu taking it from PDF-Xchange and this should help us identify what is active at the tie.

You can help here by indicating to us what applications and services you have running at the time.

Hi memphis_hw,

We couldn't find anything in the loaded_modules that would explain this. We are confident however that some external process is taking the "focus" away from the menu. What we have for you is a registry change that will log events that interupt the menu. If you extract the attached file to a folder and double click it then some changes to the Windows registry will be made that will log interuptions to using the menu.

The procedure to follow is:
1. close PDF-XChange Viewer
2. extract the zip file to a folder
3. double click DbgSysEvt.reg - allow it if Windows asks
4. start PDF-Xchange Viewer
5. reproduce the issue, i.e. use the menu. It is important in this step that the issue of the drop down boxes happens.
6. Close PDF-XChange Viewer
7. there will be a file created : "c:\SysEvents.log" - send it to us on this forum.

You will need to zip the file to post it here else the forum software wil remove it from the post.

With the information we get we should be able to tell what process is causing the issue.

Good news Jeff,

that file you sent enabled us to identify the process that was taking the focus from the menu. We have created a fix and it will be available in the next build of the Viewer slated for release march 25th.
