I cannot correctly print the self filling GA Tax Form 500 that I downloaded from https://etax.dor.ga.gov/inctax/individu ... forms.aspx.
Apparently PDF-XChange Viewer does not support printing the document as intended by Georgia. One is directed to print the form by clicking the green PRINT box in the upper left corner of the document.
This feature is enabled in the current Adobe PDF Viewer.

Hello Pete,
Please make sure that you do have the latest build of our Viewer (2.5.194 - released last Friday) as with it the "print" button in this form should be working correctly. At least when I tried it a few seconds ago it did launch my print dialogue and let me select my printer and settings for it just as expected.
Best,
Stefan

Re: print dialog within PDF document
Stefan,
I downloaded the latest (Version 2.5 build 194.0) version of the free software and as before was able to choose my printer but when I choose PRINT FORM or PRINT BLANK FORM nothing happens. To be sure the latest update was in place I checked the about dialog (again Version 2.5 build 194.0) and also checked again for updates which came back as no new updates available. I also started with a new download from the GA website so saving the old form does not seem to be the problem.

Re: print dialog within PDF document
Hello Pete,
Just to confirm it is this form that you are trying to fill right?
TSD_Individual_Income_Tax_Return_500-2009-_Fillable
I just did a quick test and the form prints fine both when empty and with filled in data.
I have only one "print" button in that form and one "clear" so I might be checking a different one.
The boxes around fields that are completed do not print, but this is JavaScript code inside the form, and the behaviour will be the same in Adobe's Reader.
Best,
Stefan

Re: print dialog within PDF document
Hello Stefan,
I have the problem Pete reported. The document you tested is old (2009 tax year). The document Pete and I are using is https://etax.dor.ga.gov/inctax/2010_for ... llable.pdf.
When viewed, this PDF has two "buttons" at the top, a green PRINT and a red CLEAR button. (Last year's form that had two black buttons.)
If I use the green PRINT button, I get a popup menu with choices to Select a Printer, Print Form, Print Blank Form, or Cancel Printing. When I click Print Form, the popup menu goes away but nothing else happens.
If I use the viewer's print button, I get the print dialog, and the page displays empty except for the words "Please use the Green PRINT button on top of page 1 to print this document."
I'm using 2.5.194.
Thank you for looking at this, and for this great program.

Re: print dialog within PDF document
Hello Barry and Pete,
Yes seems like I got the old form last time.
I also did not manage to print this file via our Viewer, so I made a ticket for our devs:
#986: Viewer 2.5.194: Unable to print a specific form
So that they can check and try to resolve this incorrect behaviour.
We will post here in this topic any news as they become available.
If filling this form is urgent you might however need to use an alternative PDF Viewer for now.
Best,
Stefan

Re: print dialog within PDF document
Hello Barry and Pete,
Our devs just notified me that this file is using some undocumented functions.
We have now made some workarounds so the file would be printable in the next build of our Viewer (2.5.195 expected later today) with the only exception that the Barcode will not be properly created/printed.
Best,
Stefan

Stefan,
Thank you very much for the update; I've got the printing capability now. This is amazingly fast work to provide this fix so soon, but the company does seem to be really on the ball in lots of ways. Thanks again.

I installed the latest release and the print dialog worked as it should. Thanks for the follow-up.
